Local Chapter Makes Logan’s Wish Come True
Logan’s wish was for a backyard playset.
Logan, of Long Island, is a very courageous little boy who had an incredibly difficult first two and a half years of life, suffering from end stage kidney disease and undergoing a kidney transplant from his father. When a child is sick, they often just want the simple things that most kids take for granted. In Logan’s case, all he wished for was a playset.
Logan’s story invigorated the entire Long Island Chapter – enticing various members to work together to bring Logan’s wish to fruition. MLF Co-Founder, Kenny Schroy, was able to work with a personal contact, John Barrs of Barrs Recreation, to get the playset donated.
Longtime MLF supporter, Richard Merlo, made arrangements to pick up the oversized playset. MLF Executive Board Member, Eileen Mayer, worked with Jeff Sperling of Jeff Scott Contracting, to get the playset installed. All the while, Logan’s wish coordinator, Connie Wohlars, worked with the family to keep the wish process running smoothly. A true joint effort helped Logan’s wish come true and will give him plenty of enjoyable days of playing like a typical kid for years to come!
