We offer a number of opportunities (at both our National Headquarters and Local Chapters) for you to choose from
Wish Granting Volunteer:
If you would like to work directly with families in helping to fulfill a wish for their child, then this is the position for you! You will work hand in hand with our Director of Program Services to help organize special wishes. As each wish is unique, your responsibilities will vary but can include meeting with the children to determine their wish, making arrangements for the wish and calling families post-wish to gather details of their experience. Don’t worry, MLF Headquarters staff will be there to offer guidance, assistance, and all needed financial requirements in order to make the wish a tremendous success.
Special Events Volunteers:
As a Special Events Volunteer, your assistance would be most welcomed by our local chapters. They are always seeking qualified people to help them with special events by obtaining donated raffle/auction items/car services/airline tickets, setting up/breaking down events, selling raffle tickets and more.
Speakers Bureau Volunteer:
If public speaking is something that you enjoy, this will be your perfect spot and a most important role as we strive to “get the word out” about the MLF mission. Your responsibilities may include visiting companies/corporations, schools, and community groups to relate the MLF story and representing MLF at community events.
Medical Outreach Volunteer:
If you enjoy speaking with people, have a medical background or are familiar with medical terminology, this could be the position for you! Your responsibilities can include explaining medical eligibility requirements, helping to increase referrals and creating awareness of the MLF mission within the medical community.
Office Volunteer:
If organization is your thing, you would be perfect in assisting the staff at the MLF Headquarters. Your responsibilities may include performing data entry, handling correspondence or assisting with special events. (Computer experience is required.)
Community Service:
If your child is in need of community service credits, MLF is proud to offer age-appropriate opportunities depending on their skills and our need. Please contact MLF Headquarters for more information.
