Please CLICK HERE to complete an application beforehand.

We offer a number of opportunities (at both our National Headquarters and/or Local Chapters) for you to choose from.
All of which can fulfill Employee Volunteer & Student Community Service requirements.

Wish Grantor:

If you would like to work directly with families in helping to fulfill a wish for their child, then this is the position for you! You will work hand in hand with our Director of Program Services to help organize special wishes. As each wish is unique, your responsibilities will vary but can include meeting with the children to determine their wish, making arrangements for the wish and calling families post-wish to gather details of their experience.  Don’t worry, MLF Headquarters staff will be there to offer guidance, assistance, and all needed financial requirements in order to make the wish a tremendous success. This role can span over our 14 chapters in the U.S. Please note this volunteer position will require additional training.

Event Committee Members:

Your assistance would be most welcomed by our local chapters & HQ. We are always seeking qualified people to help with special events by obtaining donated raffle/auction items, assist at events (raffle sales, registration, activities at event), setting up/breaking down events, and wrapping baskets and prizes (usually at MLF Headquarters).

Speakers Bureau:

If public speaking is something that you enjoy, this will be your perfect spot and a most important role as we strive to “get the word out” about the MLF mission. Your responsibilities may include visiting companies/corporations, schools, and community groups to relate the MLF story and representing MLF at community events. Please note this volunteer position will require additional training.

Medical Outreach:

If you enjoy speaking with people, have a medical background or are familiar with medical terminology, this could be the position for you! Your responsibilities can include explaining medical eligibility requirements, helping to increase referrals and creating awareness of the MLF mission within the medical community. You will work hand in hand with our Director of Mission Delivery for scheduling, information to be presented, etc.

Office Assistance:

If organization is your thing, you would be perfect in assisting the staff at the MLF Headquarters. Your responsibilities may include performing data entry, handling correspondence (TY Letters) (Computer experience is required), or assisting with mailings (stuffing, labeling) and help organize office space after events (placing items in storage)

Student Community Service:

MLF is proud to offer age-appropriate opportunities to students of all ages that are in need of community service credits. We will assign responsibilities depending on their skills and our need. Please contact MLF Headquarters for more information.

Bi-Lingual/Translation:

Spanish speaking volunteers are always needed to help deliver our mission to our local community as well as directly help facilitate wishes for our children.

MLF “Connector”:

Volunteering can be, if anything, a connection to the next thing or person that forwards our mission. If you are able to connect us to another “do good” individual, company, group or child in need, please let us know. You can also help us “connect” by being the Ultimate Social Media “Sharer” by liking, commenting and sharing our social media posts. Every bit helps.
