When dynamic teams assemble, incredible things happen—on and off the field. Recently, our founder, New York Jets legend and “New York Sack Exchange” member Marty Lyons, visited Jake’s 58 Hotel & Casino for a truly inspiring moment of community, connection, and compassion.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of Jake’s 58 patrons, the Marty Lyons Foundation was presented with a remarkable donation of $12,910.56, raised entirely through the casino’s impactful “Donate Your Change” program.
Suffolk OTB President Phil Boyle and Vice President Jim LaCarrubba personally presented the check to Marty, taking a moment to highlight the long-standing dedication our organization has had to supporting families across the region.
Every Cent Counts Toward a Special Wish
Since 1982, the Marty Lyons Foundation has dedicated itself to a singular, vital mission: granting the wishes of children ages 3 to 17 who are navigating terminal or life-threatening illnesses.
Whether it is a trip to a dream destination, meeting a personal hero, or creating a unique experience that brings joy during a tough journey, these wishes provide hope, strength, and irreplaceable memories for brave young human beings and their families.
What makes this $12,910.56 contribution so extraordinary is how it was built. It didn’t come from a single corporate sweep—it was gathered nickel by nickel, quarter by quarter, from casino guests who chose to donate their leftover change.
