Bob’s Discount Furniture Gives Angel a Room Makeover!

Angel is a 16 year old boy from West Babylon who suffers from a slew of life-threatening ailments including cerebral palsy, a seizure disorder and reactive airway disease.

Back in 2018, his home was destroyed in a fire.  As they were in the process of rebuilding, his mother had a car accident and lost her job.  Shortly after, he was hospitalized due to his pulmonary issues and they did not expect him to make it.

Once he was finally home, the wish was finalized – a room makeover that would safely accommodate his hospital bed, medical needs and still remain a beautiful and comfortable space.  A local Ace Hardware donated the paint for the room and a Long Island Chapter friend, Kevin Bunk donated his time to paint the room.  Then one of our beloved partners, Bob’s Discount Furniture donated all the furniture needed for the room.

Mom said: “I would like to express my immense gratitude to Marty Lyons Foundation and everyone for the lovely act in granting a wish to my Son Angel Sierra. Everyone that comes to Angel’s bedroom compliments what a beautiful bedroom he has. This brings a smile to my face to know that people like Mr. Marty Lyons, his Foundation team, and Donors, care about my son and my family. I appreciate everyone for assisting in helping me maximize the usage of my son’s living space. This act of kindness from everyone shown my son that there are good people in this world and we appreciate that. The generosity that you have shown is priceless and words cannot express how truly grateful we are. Thank you again for your support.”
