Aiden (NJ/PA Chapter)

Aiden’s Disney Dream comes true with his wish

Aiden is a 7-year-old boy from Howell, NJ who has Hunter Syndrome, a rare terminal neurodegenerative disease. Children with the severe form of this disease, like Aiden, lose their ability to talk, recognize loved ones, eat, walk and eventually lose their lives. He has undergone more surgeries, tests, treatments and trials than most adults experience in their lifetime.

In spite of all that he has endured with this terrible illness, he is the joy and light of his parents’ lives. They have gone above and beyond to enhance his quality of life and bring him happiness. One of the things that makes him happiest of all is Disney and all its loveable characters! It was Aiden’s wish to visit Disney and the Florida theme parks with his parents and siblings, a dream that come true thanks to our New Jersey Chapter this past March.

It was a pleasure and privilege to grant his wish and granting the opportunity for Aiden to enjoy time with his family in the sunshine state, outside of the confines of the hospital. We know these memories will last a lifetime and we hope it gives him strength in the days ahead.

Mom’s words of thanks: “We are home from our AMAZING vacation! We had the most incredible family experiences together! Thank you, thank you, thank you! We are so grateful for everything everyone at the Marty Lyons Foundation gave our family!”
