Field & Sound Brandy Cask Finished Cask Strength Wheated Bourbon Whiskey (BY-8 “MLF” Edition) is distilled by Long Island Spirits on the North Fork of Long Island, New York. Using the finest locally grown field corn, winter wheat and malted barley, combined with sweet fermentation traditional pot distillation. Then after lengthy aging in New American Oak the Bourbon is moved into X Brandy Casks to add to the unique flavor
Origin: Whiskies are from the North Fork of Long Island, NY, one of the oldest farming regions in the country, with family farms dating back to the 1600’s coupled with the acclaimed wine region with over 70 award winning wineries
Batch # & Release Year: Each Bottle has a handwritten Batch # and Release Year
Tasting Notes: Combination of berries, raisins, baking spices and a tad biscuity, with dark fruit, cocoa, spice, and fruity sweetness.
Bottling: 750ML; 120 Proof
Mash Bill: 60% Field Corn, 33% Winter Wheat, and 7% Malted Barley
Finishing Cask: Brandy Distilled by Long Island Spirits in 2016 from local Pinot Noir & Chardonnay then aged in French Oak Casks
Cask Strength: Straight Bourbon Bottled at or near the proof it was aging at the time of bottling, Bourbon has been aged no less than 4 years
Maritime Whiskey Barrel house sits on the farm fields adjoining the bluffs of the Long Island Sound, which offers a subtle briny note
Small Batch Double Pot Distilled in Christian Carl Pot Stills
Sweet Mash used during fermentation process, using non backset/sour mash for better consistency and control
Local Grains are either grown on the fields of the Distillery or provided by local Long Island farmers, who have been growing on the same family farms for centuries
Sustainably Distilled Spent mash from distilling is provided to local farmers and used for livestock feed or compost
Barrels are provided by Kelvin Cooperage in Kentucky, the finest White Oak at a Char 2 level
Non-Chill-Filtered preserves the important unique characteristics of the whiskies Fermentation.
