4th Annual Evening of Thanks Gala

4th Annual Evening of Thanks Gala

Have you ever met a princess with a heart like Ellie’s? It couldn’t be more fitting that her one true wish is to meet her fellow princesses at Disney World!

Unbeknownst to Ellie, it was announced at our “Royal” 4th Annual Evening of Thanks Gala at the Bourne Mansion on November 13th, by very special guest Princesses, generously provided by CM Performing Arts Center of Oakdale, that her wish trip will come true March 2026, as all guests shared in the surprise! She will be traveling with her parents, and her big sister, Vivienne, who is 7 years old with flights generously provided by JetBlue. When Ellie arrives in Orlando, she will stay in her own personal Villa at “Give Kids The World” Village with her family, and receive park tickets for Walt Disney World, Universal and SeaWorld!

“I have way too much to say and way too many pictures to share but I need to immediately thank Marty Lyons and the Foundation for giving us the incredible wish for our warrior, Ellie. This experience has been nothing short of amazing so far.  My heart is full and I am so grateful.” – Ellie’s Mom

Nassau BOCES cosmetology students began the magic for Ellie and her sister by providing special hair and makeup service to prepare for their gala evening at the Residence Inn Long Island East End, in Riverhead, where they stayed in a Diamond Suite compliments of the hotel.

Upon entering the venue, guests were greeted by West Islip Girls Scout Juniors Troop 2555 as they handed out their handmade Rose Ornaments in honor of Ellie’s favorite princess, “Belle”.

When Ellie and her family arrived by special car service, the red carpet was rolled out and she was royally announced by the event’s “Town Crier”.

Ellie was also crowned as the official MLF “Princess of Courage” by Royal Decree, with additional surprises from the local community for her and her sister, such as authentic Disney Princess dresses to wear on their trip courtesy of Nassau BOCES, personalized gift bags were assembled by Tanger Outlets of Deer Park for Ellie and Her sister Viv, a chocolate sculpted rose created by Disset Chocolates was presented to Ellie in honor of her favorite princess Belle and many more handmade gifts from MLF volunteers were given. Students of Nassau BOCES incorporated their talents to create a wardrobe of casual wear for the girls to wear on their “Royal Trip”, the events stage and photo booth backdrops, photo props, evening program with dinner menu, table numbers, centerpiece containers and a cake for Wish sibling Vivienne who recently celebrated her birthday.
