On Monday, July 14, the Marty Lyons Foundation held it’s 39th Annual Celebrity Golf Classic (CGC) at one of Long Island’s most exclusive golf clubs, the Old Westbury Golf & Country Club. To say the day was a tremendous success is an understatement.
Long-time MLF supporter, Peter Grandich, was this year’s Honoree and the recipient of the Keith Muglia Person of the Year Award.
We were blessed to have over 240 golfers, including 30+ celebrities…raised over $250,000 thanks to all of the foursomes, sponsorship packages, raffle ticket sales, and live/silent auction purchases!!!
These folks gave us their support in many ways, but they gave us their most valuable support…and that is their time!
Our friends and supporters enjoyed a full day of golf at one of Long Island’s Top 10 courses, followed by a fantastic extended cocktail hour & dinner, followed by the program and awards.
Giveaways, raffles, silent/live auctions, and more were sprinkled in throughout the day to make this year’s event one to remember!
Our evening program included long-time volunteer and wish granter, Susan Schroy, reading a letter written by one of our Wish Moms, Debbie. We granted her daughter, Jessica’s “aka Pippy”, wish over 20 years ago. Susan shared her family’s story and gratitude to the crowd to express how events like the CGC are crucial in delivering our Mission to families of critically ill children.

– Philip Lyons, Jr., MLF’s Georgia Chapter President (The Stan Pohl Award).
– Alan Hock, Partner at Moritt Hock & Hamroff (The Colleen Walsh Award).
– NY Jets Legends Lance Mehl & Bob Crable (The Bill Hampton Award).
– Rich Schmidt & Fred Cambria (The Leon Hess Award).
The success of our Celebrity Golf Classic could not have been possible without the generosity of our supporters, sponsors, and our hard-working volunteers, whose collaboration helped us raise over $300,000 to continue making wishes come true for our special kiddos.
