On October 13th, Marty Lyons became the 13th inductee to the Jets Ring of Honor. Marty played for the Jets from 1979 to 1989 as both a defensive tackle and defensive end; in addition to being a part of the famed “New York Sack Exchange”.
As family, friends and fans looked on, Marty received his honor at halftime. Marty thanked the fans and said “On behalf of my family, friends, my teammates, from all the fans up top to all the fans over here, to all the fans in the end zone and all the fans out there, it’s truly an honor and privilege for me to represent each and every one of you as we get inducted to the New York Jets Ring of Honor”
An extraordinary person on and off the field, Marty Lyons gives so much of himself in everything he does. Congratulations Marty, it couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy.
